1. When to Use QR Code Connection

If you're experiencing any of the following issues with the mobile app, try the QR code connection method:

  • The app can't find your printer

  • The connection keeps loading or fails repeatedly

  • The printer used to connect but now won't

  • iOS system issues (e.g., jailbreak) causing the printer not to appear in the app

2. Prerequisite

Your printer's self-test page must have a QR code printed on it. If there's no QR code, QR connection is not supported — please use the standard Bluetooth pairing method instead.

3. Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Print the Self-Test Page (varies by model)

ModelHow to Print the Self-Test Page
568PQuickly press the power button 3 times, then release
668BTQuickly press the power button 3 times, then release
168BT / 268BTPress and hold the power button for about 2 seconds, release after hearing two beeps
C10Quickly press the power button 4 times, then release
PD-A4Quickly press the power button 2 times, then release
JD-166Quickly press the power button 2 times, then release

Step 2: Check the Self-Test Page for a QR Code

  • After printing the self-test page, look for a QR code.

  • If there is a QR code → QR connection is supported. Continue to Step 3.

  • If there is no QR code → QR connection is not supported. Please use standard Bluetooth pairing or contact support.

Step 3: Scan and Connect via the App

  1. Open the Jadens Printer App.

  2. Tap the "+" icon (or "Add Printer").

  3. Select "Scan QR Code".

  4. Scan the QR code on the self-test page.

  5. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete pairing.

4. Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: I scanned the QR code but still can't connect. What should I do?
A: Please make sure Bluetooth is turned on and the app has Bluetooth and Location permissions. If it still fails, restart both the printer and your phone, then try again.

Q2: There's no QR code on my self-test page. What now?
A: Your printer doesn't support QR connection. Please use the standard method: open the app → "Add Printer" → select your model from the device list.

Q3: Why are so many customers having connection issues recently?
A: Some Android and iOS devices have compatibility issues with Bluetooth scanning. The latest batch of printers includes a QR code on the self-test page, which bypasses the system's Bluetooth search and resolves most connection failures.

Q4: Which models support QR connection?
A: Currently supported models include: 568P, 668BT, 168BT, 268BT, C10, PD-A4, and JD-166. Other models may not support it — please check if your self-test page has a QR code.

Q5: What's the difference between QR connection and regular Bluetooth?
A: QR connection uses the QR code to obtain the printer's pairing information directly, skipping the system Bluetooth search. It's faster and more stable, especially when your phone can't find the printer via Bluetooth.

5. Still Can't Connect?

If the issue persists after following these steps, please provide:

  1. Printer model

  2. Phone system (iOS/Android) and version

  3. A photo of the self-test page (to confirm if a QR code is present)

  4. A screenshot or screen recording of the failed connection in the app
